Hi, I'm Gillian (she/her)!

I'm a wacky combination of body science nerd, passionate teacher and body positive champion.

I have a degree in Kinesiology (yup, like I said, body science nerd), a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and a registered Personal Trainer/ Fitness Instructor turned Therapist (I have a Master's in Counselling Psychology). All this means in one way or another, I've been helping others create a healthy lifestyle they love for over 25+ years. Though I'm now a full-time therapist in private practice, I intend to keep this course available as a "legacy" program. My intent in offering it for FREE is to simply make it accessible and available for whoever it might serve.

What is Intuitive Eating?!

Intuitive Eating is a weight-inclusive, evidence-based framework that was developed by two Dietitians, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch over 25 years ago. Since then this transformative framework has been researched extensively and validated by over 100 studies!

What does that mean to you? 

By actively exploring all 10 principles you'll reclaim your authentic health. A dynamic integration between inner attunement (aka. listening to your body's signals and needs) and external health values (free from diet culture and body shame). 


Ultimately, Intuitive Eating is about letting go of random (diet culture) rules that don't serve you, tuning in and eating, and moving in ways that show your awesome body respect.  


How does the course work?!

We each learn at different paces and need different support. I've taken that into consideration within the design of this course. 

The course is broken into 10 chapters (one for each principle of Intuitive Eating)!

Each chapter includes: 

  • 4-6 videos (5-15-minutes long). 
  • Principle-specific action steps
  • Worksheets, handouts, journals, and audio meditations
  • Recommended resources


How is the course structured? 

Once you sign up you'll have access to ALL of the content. You can explore it "in order" or follow your instincts or "intuition" about how to explore based on your needs and the included self-assessment. However you explore, I hope you enjoy and find value in learning more about the practice of Intuitive Eating.

FAQ

  • Will I lose weight on Intuitive Eating?

    This is a complex question. The short answer is Intuitive Eating is a weight neutral approach and we're not focused on it (I know, groundbreaking!). Ultimately, there is no way to predict what your weight will do with Intuitive Eating. Some people lose, some people gain, others stay the same. But here's what I know for sure: your body will settle into a healthy weight for you. Whether that weight matches the idea you have in your head about what you'd like it to be, we just don't know. Part of what we'll be exploring is where exactly you developed the idea that your body needs to be smaller than it is, and whether that idea is helping or harming you (long term). I know...juicy stuff. What I do know is that diets don't work (long term), and Intuitive Eating is correlated with better overall health outcomes, better body image, and improved mental health. So my question back to you is, what is on the other side of losing weight that you're striving for? Is losing weight really going to help you have that? What if you took yourself out of the losing weight pressure cooker and simply focused on living a lifestyle that FEELS good in your body?!

  • I have an active eating disorder, can I participate?

    If you've been diagnosed with an eating disorder and are currently undergoing treatment, please speak to your healthcare team about whether this course and coaching could support you. If you don't have a health care team, please reach out to me. I'd love to help, but also want to make sure you have the right supports in place for healing.

  • Do I need to know anything about Intuitive Eating to start?

    Absolutely not! This course will take you through it all! No prior experience is necessary. Just a willingness to learn and explore your relationship with food, fitness and your body!

  • I'm already practicing Intuitive Eating, will this course help me?

    Possibly! It totally depends on where you're at in the practice. In my experience, learning from a new teacher is always beneficial. Even if you've read the book, listened to podcasts or done some coaching, there might be some new things you hear or learn by doing this course. Especially if you can plan to attend monthly group coaching calls. It might be particularly helpful if you still have some sticky points (we all do!). By connecting with the community and our coaching calls, we can work together to deepen your practice!

  • I have dietary restrictions due to health reasons, can I eat intuitively?

    Yes! I have Celiac Disease and also some food intolerances. Intuitive Eating is about honouring your body with gentle nutrition and eating in a way that shows your body respect. Part of that is working with any medical conditions or dietary restrictions you have. The difference is in why you're restricting. Don't worry, we'll explore that together!
